Story Transcript:

Cy: Roedd hi'n fore heulog yng Nghwmbran a dyma Rhys yn deffro gyda chyffro mawr yn ei galon.
En: It was a sunny morning in Cwmbran and here's Rhys waking up with great excitement in his heart.

Cy: Mae heddiw’r diwrnod, meddai wrtho'i hun, lle bydd fy ngherddi yn cael eu clywed yn y gystadleuaeth farddoniaeth.
En: "Today's the day," he told himself, "where my poems will be heard in the poetry competition."

Cy: Rhys, bachgen ifanc medrus gyda geiriau ac odlau, oedd wedi paratoi amdani ers wythnosau lawer.
En: Rhys, a skilled young boy with words and rhythms, had been preparing for this for many weeks.

Cy: Yn barod â'i lyfr nodiadau dan ei fraich a’i linellau wedi’u dysgu yn berffaith, cerddodd Rhys i gyfeiriad y lleoliad lle byddai'r gystadleuaeth yn digwydd.
En: Ready with his notebook under his arm and his lines perfectly memorized, Rhys walked towards the location where the competition would take place.

Cy: Ond heb sylweddoli, trodd Rhys i'r dde yn lle'r chwith wrth gornel y farchnad a cherddodd yn uniongyrchol i mewn i faes llawn defaid.
En: But without realizing, Rhys turned to the right instead of the left at the corner of the market and walked directly into a field full of sheep.

Cy: Edrychodd Rhys o amgylch mewn dryswch - ble oedd y llwyfan a'r meinciau, a ble oedd y beirniaid yn aros am eu cerddi?
En: Rhys looked around in confusion - where was the stage and the judges waiting for their poems?

Cy: Yn lle hynny, roedd yno giât a phobl yn gwisgo clobrynau cryfion yn edrych arno gydag annibyniaeth.
En: Instead, there were gates and people wearing sturdy boots looking at him with confusion.

Cy: "Rhys!
En: "Rhys!"

Cy: " gwaeddodd llais sydyn.
En: a sudden voice called out.

Cy: Dyma oedd Gwen, ei ffrind gorau, yn rhedeg tuag ato.
En: It was Gwen, his best friend, running towards him.

Cy: "Beth wyt ti'n gwneud yma?
En: "What are you doing here?

Cy: Mae hwn yn gystadleuaeth bugeilio!
En: This is a sheepdog competition!"

Cy: ""O na," meddai Rhys.
En: "Oh no," said Rhys.

Cy: "Fe wnes i droi ar y ffordd anghywir.
En: "I took the wrong way.

Cy: Dylwn i fod yn y gystadleuaeth farddoniaeth yn awr!
En: I should be at the poetry competition now!"

Cy: "Yn y pen draw, roedd Rhys wedi penderfynu derbyn y sefyllfa a cheisio ei orau yn y gystadleuaeth bugeilio.
En: In the end, Rhys had decided to accept the situation and do his best in the sheepdog competition.

Cy: Gyda chyfarwyddiadau Gwen a chefnogaeth y dorf a oedd yn dechrau cronni, Rhys aeth ati i dywys y defaid trwy'r cwrs rhwystrau.
En: With Gwen's guidance and the support of the gathering crowd, he set out to guide the sheep through the obstacle course.

Cy: Gwelodd Rhys fod rhaid i’r defaid fynd trwy giât, dros fro, ac o amgylch polyn.
En: Rhys saw that the sheep had to go through a gate, over a hill, and around a post.

Cy: Er ei fod yn anghyfarwydd â'r gwaith, roedd Rhys yn garedig ac yn amyneddgar gyda'r anifeiliaid.
En: Though unfamiliar with the task, Rhys was kind and patient with the animals.

Cy: Gwen, yn chwerthin yn rhyfedd wrth ochr y maes, roedd yn awgrymu ffyrdd i'w cyfeillion helpu'r defaid.
En: Gwen, laughing strangely by the side of the field, suggested ways for his friends to help the sheep.

Cy: A dyma ryfeddod y dydd - Rhys, gyda'i ddawn ar gyfer geiriau, a ddefnyddiodd ei lais cysur i dywys y defaid.
En: And then came the wonder of the day - Rhys, with his gift for words, used his comforting voice to lead the sheep.

Cy: Fe wnaethant wrando ar ei gyfarwyddiadau a dilyn pob cam yn ofalus, gan basio'r holl rwystrau.
En: They listened to his directions and carefully followed each step, overcoming all the obstacles.

Cy: Er ei fod yn oruchwyliwr digyfri a phrin ei brofiad, llwyddodd Rhys i ddod â'r defaid i'r diwedd heb unrhyw anhawster mawr.
En: Despite being an inexperienced and rarely experienced shepherd, Rhys managed to bring the sheep to the end without any major difficulty.

Cy: Roedd y dorf yn cymeradwyo, gan chwerthin ac yn clodfori ei ymdrechion dewr.
En: The crowd cheered, laughing and applauding his brave efforts.

Cy: Ar ôl y gystadleuaeth, mynnodd trefnwyr y gystadleuaeth barddoniaeth fod Rhys yn darllen ei gerddi fel rhan o’r gwobrau.
En: After the competition, the organizers of the poetry competition insisted that Rhys read his poems as part of the awards.

Cy: Yn y diwedd, enillodd Rhys y ddau gystadleuaeth – y cyntaf am ei allu annisgwyl i arwain defaid, a'r ail am y geiriau hardd a ysgrifennodd o'r galon.
En: In the end, Rhys won both competitions - the first for his unexpected ability to lead sheep, and the second for the beautiful words he wrote from the heart.

Cy: Daeth Rhys a Gwen adref gyda gwên, gan wybod y byddai hwn yn stori i'w hadrodd am flynyddoedd i ddod, stori am gamgymeriad hapus a enillodd gymeradwyaeth pawb yn Cwmbran.
En: Rhys and Gwen returned home with smiles, knowing that this would be a story to be told for years to come, a story of a happy mistake that won everyone's approval in Cwmbran.
