Dr. Paul Thornton was a successful executive who got a life-changing diagnosis at the age of 29. Even though Vestibular Schwannoma or Acoustic Neuroma usually is diagnosed in middle-aged white men, Dr. Thornton got the surprise of his life when he himself was diagnosed with this rare tumor. Some of the early symptoms are poor balance, tinnitus (ringing in the ear), headache, or hearing loss. However, Dr. Thornton realized something was strange when he noticed a small growth on the inside of his cheek. He asked questions and, after a few doctors, was diagnosed with this potentially deadly disease. He is a multiple award-winning author and discusses his memoir based on this story, "White Man's Disease." Dr. Thornton also discusses his new non-fiction works about cruising, "The Joy of Cruising" and "Cruising Interrupted," which is about how Covid interrupted the cruising industry. https://www.amazon.com/White-Mans-Disease-Paul-Thornton/dp/0692741763 https://www.thejoyofcruising.net/ *I’m not a doctor and can’t even play one on TV! If you need medical help, please call a medical doctor or call 911!
