Meryl Frankan spoke on why she wrote the book about her cousin, Franya Winter a celebrated actress in Yiddish Theater and she came from a Hasidic Jewish family from Vilna. Franya helped support her family.

Aunt Mollie gave Meryl a Yiddish book that contained the answer to Franya's death but Aunt Mollie made her promise not to read it. Meryl kept that promise for many years!
