North Carolina's Governor-elect Roy Cooper is asking for an emergency hearing to block a recent law passed by the Republican-controlled General Assembly that strips him of some powers. 
President Barack Obama will reportedly head to Capitol Hill next week in an attempt to save Obamacare from the Republican chopping block. 
The Coast Guard confirms it has detected faint signals that could be from a small plane that disappeared with six people on board shortly after take-off from Cleveland.
