show moreFor all you surfers hitting the South Walton beaches like Sandestin and Santa Rosa Beach, get ready for a high rip current risk today with surf heights around 2 feet. The water temperature is a toasty 87 degrees, so bring your sunscreen! We've got a mix of sun and a chance of showers and thunderstorms, so keep an eye out for changing weather. Temperatures are hitting around 90, with a max heat index up to 100. Winds will start from the north and switch to the west later in the day.
Moving on to Coastal Bay, including Panama City Beach, our rip current risk remains high today. Surf heights hovering around 2 feet with a water temp of 85 degrees. Expect mostly sunny skies with a chance of showers and storms. Highs in the lower 90s, feeling like up to 102! Winds starting from the north and turning west in the afternoon.
And over at Coastal Gulf, including Saint Joe Beach, we're looking at a high rip current risk today. Surf heights near 2 feet, water temp 87 degrees. It's a mostly sunny day with a chance of showers and storms. Temperatures around 90, feeling like 102. Winds coming from the northwest, then shifting to the west later.
Remember, moderate rip current risks will come into play over the weekend, so stay cautious and have a blast out there catching some waves!
