Hey there beachgoers! Welcome to your surf zone forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, Florida. Get ready for some fun in the sun, but also watch out for those rip currents – they're no joke!
For our pals in South Walton, including Sandestin and Santa Rosa Beach, we've got easterly winds at 15 to 20 miles per hour creating 4-foot surf. The water is a warm 83 degrees, perfect for a dip! Keep an eye out for those thunderstorms today and tomorrow. High rip current risk until late Friday night, so be extra cautious in the water.
Moving over to Coastal Bay with Panama City Beach, expect similar conditions with 4-foot surf, high rip current risk, and the chance of showers and thunderstorms looming. Temperatures in the upper 80s with a max heat index of up to 103 – stay cool out there, folks!
And for our friends at Coastal Gulf, including Saint Joe Beach, it's mostly sunny with a mix of showers and possible thunderstorms. 2 to 3-foot surf and a high rip current risk should keep you on your toes.
Remember to check those tides, keep an eye on the sky, and most importantly, stay safe while catching those waves.
