Today’s show covers some tough topics including the US presidential election results and an acknowledgement of the No Dakota Access Pipeline protests. We try to balance it out with some self-care tips after our student panel. These discussions address violence against Indigenous people, violence against minority groups, and violence against women. We try to be mindful when approaching these topics, please be warned that this is the nature of today's show. We have our second student panel of the year covering the US presidential election results. Lisa gives a brief rundown of how the electoral system works, while Mat Andreatta, Clara Salter and Alexandra Wilker provide insight into the context of the election results. Clara and Lisa discuss self-care tips for Indigenous folks and politically conscious individuals, and offer some links to resources on the Unceded Airwaves Facebook and Twitter pages.

Mario Parent speaks to DJ Shub, who is a Mohawk DJ from 6 Nations, about his latest video Indomitable. He has a new track called “Indomitable” featuring the Northern Cree Singers from his first solo EP Powwow Step. We start the show hearing music from Classic Roots feat. Natasha Fisher, Frank Waln, and Red Eagle. Victor Sauca and Lisa finish the show with the weekly #UncededEvents listing. Thank you to everyone who contributed to today’s show including Clara Salter, Alexandra Wilker, and Mat Andreatta, Victor Sauca, Mario Parent and Lisa Girbav. Unceded Airwaves on CiTR 101.9FM broadcasts from the traditional ancestral and unceded lands of the Musqueam people.

Unceded Airwaves is put together every week by UBC's Indigenous Radio Collective, and we are committed to centering the voices of Native people and offering alternative narratives that empower Native people and their stories.
