Description
Joe’s back after messing up on Tuesday night. Joe begins with what happened and explained how most days he’s among the top 2% (okay, maybe top 4%) of Americans in...
show moreColorado is leaving the Pac-12 for the Big 12, and they won’t have to pay an exit fee because the TV deal for the Pac-12 ends at the end of this academic year. Colorado benefits from the Big 12 commissioner jumping into the line and getting their TV deal done. Also, Colorado should have less travel time for the most part with the schools in the central of the country where the Big 12 mainly is. Joe could see Utah getting out of the Pac-12, but that’s just a Joe gut feeling.
Bronny James is out of the hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest at USC on Monday. First, it’s amazing that this was not known to the media for 24 hours, and also, Joe thinks people need to shut up with their conspiracy theories about the vax and whatever. Let the doctors do their thing and leave it at that.
NFL training camps opened, and the injury bug has hit. Jalen Ramsey has a torn meniscus, Joe Burrow pulled a calf muscle and CJ Gardner-Johnson hurt his leg in a non-contact injury. You can tell it’s the beginning of camp when some of these injuries occur.
Saquon Barkley signed his adjusted franchise tag contract. He’s not happy about the contract, but he understands it’s a business. In the end, he didn’t want to hold out. At least he’s a team player!
Sean Payton ripped Nathaniel Hackett, the previous Denver head coach as doing “one of the worst head coaching jobs in NFL history.” OUCH! Jets play in Denver in October.
MLB trade news: Ohtani is off the market and staying with the Angels and also get a stud pitcher from the White Sox, Carlos Santana goes to Milwaukee, and a few other trades that occurred so far (as of Thursday evening).
The Las Vegas Journal Review reports that the planned A’s stadium could be 33,000 seats instead of the planned 30,000. Joe also thinks the MLB wants to get into this new market ASAP, though the Oakland mayor, as mentioned in a previous episode, might have caught the A’s owner in a lie.
Finally, Minnesota’s head football coach P.J. Fleck called mistreatment allegations “baseless”. Joe thinks though it doesn’t seem it’s what the aggrieved players or the general public would think “physical punishment” is, where there’s smoke there’s fire. Joe’s going to keep an eye on this, though some of the “punishments” aren’t necessarily physical, they are a bit sophomoric.
