Welcome to the weekend edition of RiversZen Today for Saturday and Sunday, November 24th and 25th, 2018
News of the day: The weekend is here. Thanksgiving leftovers are waning, and you are evaluating the first wave of the holiday experience. Did you eat too much? Was your blood sugar out of control? Did you feel bloated and listless? Did you gain a bunch of weight? Are you achy and irritable? You can learn from what you just experienced. Don’t fret about what happened over the holiday. Just get back on track. It’s easy to have a love/hate relationship with food.
Here are a few hints for the rest of the holiday season . . . If you are the host of the event, consider a buffet as opposed to all the food being on the table as fewer servings are mindlessly consumed when the guests need to return to the kitchen or serving line. Also considering using smaller serving spoons and plates as a study out of Cornell found that the bigger the bowl and serving spoon, the larger the serving. When you are evaluating your own eating plan for the event . . . stick to foods requiring utensils to eat as we tend to eat finger foods faster than those requiring a fork; and stay in the conversation as you tend to eat less when you talk more. If you are looking for help to get your eating under control, feel free to give us a call and we can help you find some direction.
Here are our classes for both RiversZen studios for Saturday. We are closed on Sunday; but you can find an online class by heading over to www.myriverszen.com.
