Tony DeMarco, who turned 85 this year, was the welterweight champion of the world in 1955, when there was only one 147-pound king and just seven other weight divisions.
DeMarco, who fought Johnny Saxton, Carmen Basilio, Kid Gavilan, Virgil Akins, and many others in a 71-fight professional career that spanned 14 brutal years.
