Rider Waite Tarot Card Deck
=======================

I learned how to read cards on the Rider Waite Tarot Deck and the instructor I had said its easiest to have everyone on the same deck when explaining the symbolism. With time, I was able to transfer that knowledge to other decks. If you are a beginner at learning tarot, below are some links to the Rider Waite Tarot Deck to follow along if you need a set of cards. About Carrie and  @QuickLearnQuests
===============================

I have been reading tarot cards for 30 years for fun. I took a two and a half day course, and I was so excited to be able to take the mystery out of getting readings done for myself, and to be able to do them myself. We also have social media channels, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and all major podcast distributors such as Spotify, Apple, Audible and many others under the handle @quickLearnQuests. I am focusing mostly on my podcasts and YouTube at the moment, but I will expand into more social media more consistently when I find my feet.

Here is the transcript:

Welcome to the "Memorizing Tarot Cards" podcast, your three-minute lessons on learning and memorizing each card using symbolism. I use the Rider Waite Tarot, but you can view the card while you listen using your own Tarot card deck or a computer. Today, we're exploring the Eight of Cups, focusing on reversals. Let's start with the divine meaning of the card and then its meaning when reversed. The Eight of Cups upright represents a journey of leaving behind what no longer fulfills you. You find yourself seeking deeper meaning and emotional satisfaction. It's about walking away from situations, relationships, or patterns that no longer bring joy or growth. When reversed, it suggests resistance to that necessary change. You may feel stuck, either holding onto something out of fear or hesitating to move forward because of uncertainty or emotional attachment. The reversed Eight of Cups often points to a sense of stagnation, knowing that something needs to change but being reluctant to take the steps toward that change. It's a card that asks you to confront what's holding you back and to summon the courage to release it.

So what does that mean when we see the Eight of Cups reversed in a reading? When the Eight of Cups reversed shows up in a reading, it's often a sign that you're avoiding or delaying an important decision. This card suggests that you may be holding onto the past, even though you know deep down that it's time to let go. It's an invitation to face your fears and take the first steps toward emotional freedom. This card suggests that you're hesitating to move forward because you're unsure of what lies ahead. The reversed Eight of Cups encourages you to trust the change process and understand that leaving behind what doesn't serve you opens the door to new opportunities and growth.

So, how do you memorize this reversed meaning of the card?  I find myself tying the card to a personal experience helps me.  For example, my reversed Eight of Cups moment was being afraid to end a relationship I no longer wanted.  I was in my early twenties, and I was with a very nice guy.  He was handsome, my best friend, and he wanted to marry me.  The truth is, even though, on paper, he was a perfect partner, I was in my early twenties and did not want to be in a serious relationship.  Also, for me, there was no fire in the relationship.  There was nothing wrong with the person; the timing wasn't right.  I was stuck in the eight of cups upright for years, feeling that I would be making a mistake, leaving someone who had done nothing wrong to cause this.  Eventually, the Eight of Cups reversed, and I found the strength to end it.  All these years later, he went on to get married, and I did as well.  Everything ended up exactly as it should be.  However, it took a lot of turmoil and double-guessing to get me there. And the hurt he felt at one time, was replaced with someone who was better for him.
This card reminds us that while change can be difficult, it's often necessary for our emotional growth and well-being.

Remember, the key to mastering tarot is practice. As you listen to these three-minute lessons, the cards' symbolism will become more ingrained in your memory. Thank you for tuning in.
