Lv: Centrāltirgus Rīgā plaukstēja vasaras dienā.
En: The Central Market in Riga flourished on a summer day.

Lv: Tirgoņi piedāvāja preces, smaržoja svaigi cepta rudzu maize, un cilvēki smējās un sarunājās.
En: Vendors offered goods, the scent of freshly baked rye bread filled the air, and people laughed and conversed.

Lv: Tajā vasaras dienā Alvis ieradās tirgū.
En: On this summer day, Alvis arrived at the market.

Lv: Viņš bija dzīvojis ārzemēs vairākus gadus un tagad bija atgriezies Latvijā.
En: He had lived abroad for several years and had now returned to Latvia.

Lv: Alvis jutās gan satraukts, gan nervozs.
En: Alvis felt both excited and nervous.
