EPISODE 150 ON JERRY ROYCE LIVE!

BOOK - Melting Ice Heavens [Kindle Edition]

A Powerful Read - A survivor of severe physical and emotional abuse since the time when she could speak.

Cheryl Anne Harper author of Melting ice heavens
People often wonder about what happens inside the minds of men and women who were exposed to severe traumas at a young age. How they survived, how their minds developed, what makes them tick. Cheryl Anne Harper’s books answer those questions thoroughly. A survivor of severe physical and emotional abuse since the time when she could speak, Cheryl Anne knows all too well about enduring long-term trauma, and its after-effects. She was born to an alcoholic and drug addicted mother, who was violent and negligent. So much so that it came to a point when Cheryl Anne’s father, could no longer turn the other way, and was forced to petition family court for full-parental custody. Even with the relief of this hard-won victory, the damage had already been done. In just the first six years of her life, Cheryl Anne had already been so severely abused, that she had serious learning difficulties and could not relate with her peers. By the age of eleven, Cheryl Anne had already become so well acquainted with a spectrum of real-life atrocities, and figuring out her own ways of surviving, that she began enacting an odd assortment of coping mechanisms, including suicide attempts. On the other end of the spectrum, a positive aspect of her coping mechanisms, was learning to predict the next move of anyone around her, by studying them. Over the years, the girl who had become increasingly isolated, began taking longer and longer strolls inside the recesses of her mind, until eventually the culmination of the haunting things she had seen, and her compulsive curiosities about human behavior began spilling out, in the form of ink. Melting Ice Heavens, her first book is a jaw-dropping story, told in such detail that we have to wonder from whence the author draws her reference. But not be alarmed, Melting Ice Heavens is a work of fiction that chronicles Lily Goodman’s journey all the way from being a six-year-old orphan, until adulthood, where he emerges as a well-intentioned, medically-licensed monster. The author’s second book, Latitude of A Lunatic: The Diaries of Cheryl Anne Harper takes readers inside some of the deepest tunnels her psyche. We gasp, and cringe, and then exhale, as she recounts her first realizations upon awakening from a coma that she slipped into on Christmas Eve, family sabotage, a secret love affair with her psychotherapist, the impact of drug addiction on her family, the untimely death of her beloved father, Randolph, and much, much more. Ultimately, the perspective from which Cheryl Anne’s story is told, serves as a means to discredit stigmas, imposed upon people who battle depression and other mental illnesses. A Cave In My Cloud, the author’s most recent book, reveals a vulnerable side of her that’s never been shown before. Having fallen in love with an intellectually and artistically brilliant man, whose psychiatric symptoms have resulted in him being repeatedly hospitalized, has caused Cheryl Anne to abandon all of her instincts. No matter how bad it gets, and against the advisement of various medical professionals, family and friends, she continues to show up for, believe in, and love this man whose behavioral patterns have even registered with her as an anomaly. One might wonder why a woman who had endured so much heartache already wouldn’t have simply walked away from him. The answer is lain out plainly In Cheryl Anne’s own words. “The want, and need, and sacrifice for one that has been tried in the storms, that is when you can call it love.” Melting Ice Heavens, Latitude of A Lunatic: The Diaries of Cheryl Anne Harper, and A Cave in My Cloud can easily be experienced as a kind of trilogy. Each genre of the author’s work is an introduction to another facet of her personality. Readers are both spell-bound and horrified as they consume the stories and mindsets of this literary force, who has proven that innocence and monstrosity are often born of the same seed. Melting Ice Heavens, Latitude of a Lunatic, and A Cave In My Cloud are available at Amazon, Books-A-Million, Barnes&Noble, and wherever books are sold. Her blog, No Grown Up Thoughts can be found at blogspot.com. Cheryl Anne lives in the United States and is working on the release of her fourth book, a novel.Show More
