For the first time in months, the Bryan city council did not receive an update on the progress of Suddenlink and Frontier moving utility lines underground along the improved portion of South College.

But the monthly update from city manager Kean Register at this week's council meeting included weather related delays on two projects.

Repaving Texas Avenue from north of Highway 21 to George Bush Drive will continue through the end of this month.

And rain has delayed the completion of the new Sienna Park until mid-May.

Register also reported a new governing board is another step closer to officially taking charge of Grandview Cemetery is another step closer to having a new governing body. Last December, the city council approved taking temporary control of the cemetery, near the freeway and Highway 21, while a new organization gets court approval.

As for moving overhead utility lines underground along South College, Register told WTAW News Suddenlink and Frontier continue to promise that will happen.
