ITVT is pleased to present an audio recording of the TVOT NYC 2019 session, “From ATSC 3.0 to NEXTGEN TV.” The session was described in the show brochure as follows:
“The first phase of the commercial rollout of ATSC 3.0--the new broadcast-TV standard that combines OTA TV with broadband, thus potentially enabling a huge range of new broadcast services (including 4K and UltraHD HDR, enhanced audio, rich user interfaces, interactivity, personalization, addressability, improved measurement, new forms of in-car entertainment, and more)--is set to take place early next year, beginning with the launch at CES of new ATSC 3.0-enabled television sets from several major manufacturers. The sets will carry the ‘NEXTGEN TV’ logo, the Consumer Technology Association's consumer-facing go-to-market brand for the new standard.
This session, featuring some of the key figures driving the commercial launch of ATSC 3.0/NextGen TV, will update attendees on what to expect in 2020, including a comparison to HbbTV, a similar hybrid TV platform that is available in countries outside the US.” Panelists included:
•Nick Colsey, VP of Business Development for TV, Sony Electronics
•Mark Lee, Head of US Content Business Development, LG
•Kerry Oslund, VP of Strategy and Business Development, Scripps
•Anne Schelle, Managing Director, Pearl TV (Moderator)
•Jon Watts, Managing Partner, MTM
Note: Our next TV of Tomorrow Show event, TVOT SF 2020, will take place June 17th-18th. The deadline for purchasing your tickets at the Super-Early-Bird price of $775 (40% off the full price) is midnight, February 29th: https://thetvoftomorrowshow.com/register-tvot
