The story is set on a planet named Aeghda, an important trading center for Solar System trade. The trading is mainly with cyborgs and Moesians. Aeghda has one trade route that spans through a small nation called Kirori.
Today is May 1st 2022. Kornil Voronis, the governor, is having a meeting in the city square about the upcoming trade route with the Kirori.

He reads through his notes carefully, and starts speaking, “The new trade route will start from here. Several merchants of the Moesians and Cyborgs are already preparing their ship with basic supplies.” The governor gets up and walks to the edge of the hall.

Kornil gets up from his seat and walks across the room to the other side. As he gets closer, a few Kirori people come out of their houses to see what is going on. Kornil starts to speak, but is interrupted. One of them whispers in his ear, and suddenly, the governor jumps from the top of the building and lands on the bottom, with no injuries whatsoever. The Kirori people shout out, “Yeh! That was a really good jump!” Kornil smiles and responds to them, “I am glad I wasn’t injured. But why did you just jump from your house? You are not supposed to do that.” Kornil stares at them and asks, “Did I say something wrong?”

Kirori people keep staring at Kornil and speak loudly, “If you were hurt, we apologize. If you are the governor, we respect your right to choose your own paths. So, if you would like to be a king, please join us in a celebration of the wedding of Mayor Varona Kolonia and Emrah Merita.” Kornil smiles and says to them, “I am not going to join you. I am not in the position to have a wedding, because I am already married. Also, I will not join you if I don’t know who your leader is, so I will wait for you to invite me before I join you.”

Kirori people cheer and run around the walls. After a few minutes, Kornil gets up and walks out of the market. As he leaves, one of the Kirori shouts out, “Wait, please wait for us. We are looking for someone who can speak English. If you are the king, please come and join us.”
