The Pipeman interviews Finnish metalcore band ATLAS. They are releasing New Album, 'Ukko', out December 10th via Long Branch Records. Combining modern metal with Finish folk music along with poetry. The new album will be released December 10th, 2021. You can pre order from Long Branch Records. Its an 11-song album. It took 2 years to create. Covid contributed to the obscure way of releasing the singles opposed to how they’ve use to do it. Art must be created when you feel it. In 2022 Atlas already started writing the next album during the end of the last album. A new sonic and palette. They might not tour this new album. Europe might be locking down with he new covid variant. Atlas ask manager a week before shows to make sure they are still on. This could kill the vibe of the tour. Countless number of hours goes into starting a tour. Atlas has a new favorite song off the album every week. Its exciting to play new music live. Atlas appreciates playing new music live. It changes the perception of what the record is. At the live show is super energetic, we go apeshit, a lot of sweat and tears. You can get to them via all social platforms.

Finnish metalcore band ATLAS have shared their new single "UHRI" along with a music video. 'UHRI' is the fourth single off the band's new album 'UKKO', coming December 10th, 2021 via Long Branch Records.

Guitarist Tuomas Kurikka about the new single 'UHRI':
"'Uhri' is about the journey to death. Embracing the cold and letting the black river pull you into the depths, where time can start over. The ravens vision fulfilled, truly. The sun is engulfed and white horses gallop through the ever frosted fields. The sky will cry its last tear and Ukko passes us his wisdom."

For UKKO, ATLAS drew inspiration from Finnish folk music and poetry, combining these influences with the dark soundscapes and dynamic songwriting for which the band is already known. Lyrically and thematically UKKO explores themes of death, healing, rebirth, and faith, presented in a seamlessly blended mix of English and Finnish.

The album is mixed and mastered by Buster Odeholm (Vildhjarta, Oceano, Humanity's Last Breath, Born of Osiris) who was able to bring his unique approach and sound to the album.
