The Beltrán-Leyva Cartel (BLO) was a powerful and violent Mexican drug trafficking organization founded by the four Beltrán-Leyva brothers: Arturo, Alfredo, Carlos, and Héctor. Originally part of the Sinaloa Cartel, the brothers broke away in 2008 after a fallout with Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, leading to a bloody feud between the two groups.

Under the leadership of Arturo Beltrán-Leyva, the cartel quickly rose to prominence, becoming known for its ruthless violence, sophisticated drug trafficking operations, and deep corruption within Mexican law enforcement and political circles. The BLO was heavily involved in the transportation of cocaine, marijuana, heroin, and methamphetamine, and it formed strategic alliances with other criminal groups, such as Los Zetas, to strengthen its power.

The cartel's influence began to decline after Arturo's death in a 2009 raid by Mexican marines, leading to internal fragmentation and the eventual arrest of key leaders, including Héctor and Carlos. Despite its downfall, the BLO left a lasting impact on Mexico's drug war, contributing to the extreme violence and instability in regions where it once held power.
