Local legends and lore consist of ghosts, werewolves, Goatman, and other things that go bump in the night, but they also include fortune tellers – mysterious women, oftentimes accused of being a witch, who can see your past, present and future by using their psychic abilities and various forms of divination. The legend of one such fortune teller has intrigued Jessica since childhood and in this episode, she and Nick Valente discuss Amanda “Mayhayley” Lancaster of Heard County, Georgia.

Mayhayley Lancaster was an American lawyer, political activist, midwife and teacher best known for having participated in two of Georgia's most high-profile murder trials, featured in the book and movie, Murder in Coweta County, Mayhayley garnered fame across Georgia and Alabama for her gift, charging a dollar and ten cents for psychic readings. She was notoriously accurate, at times even predicting the forthcoming death of those who visited.

Her home sat in what is now known as the Troup-Heard Corridor, home of UFO sightings, paranormal events and a lot of high strangeness – including alien, Dogman and Bigfoot reports. Jessica and her field research team regularly scout and research that area and she confirms, it is indeed an area of high strangeness.

Over the years, vandals have continuously desecrated her gravesite and made it a destination for late-night spooky adventures. Jessica and a team of her classmates once made it their mission to educate their fellow highschoolers on the truth behind this local legend, as she does here, years later, on this episode of “A Glitch in the Matrix.”

Nick Valente is a cryptozoologist and researcher with the International Dogman Project (IDP) who looks into reported encounters and theories on the notorious Dogman. The goal of the IDP is to gather as much information about the creature phenomenon known as the "Dogman'. The IDP is made up of volunteers in many states of the continental US and growing.
