Octubre 20: Un clamor por causa de los falsos amigos.

Salmos 35:4-‬23 RVA2015:
Sean avergonzados y afrentados los que buscan mi vida; vuelvan atrás y sean humillados los que planean hacerme daño. Sean como el tamo ante el viento, y que los acose el ángel del SEÑOR. Sea su camino tenebroso y resbaladizo, y que les persiga el ángel del SEÑOR. Porque sin causa escondieron para mí su red en un hoyo; sin causa pusieron trampa para mi vida. Que le alcance la destrucción que no imagina, y que le prenda la red que él mismo escondió. Caiga él en aquella destrucción. Entonces mi alma se gozará en el SEÑOR y se alegrará en su salvación. Todos mis huesos dirán: “Oh SEÑOR, ¿quién hay como tú? Libras al pobre del más fuerte que él; al pobre y necesitado del que lo despoja”. Se han levantado testigos falsos, y me interrogan de lo que no sé. Me han pagado mal por bien. ¡Desolación para mi alma! Sin embargo, cuando se enfermaron yo me vestí de aflicción. Me afligí a mí mismo con ayuno, y mi oración se volvía a mi seno. Como por mi compañero, como por mi hermano actuaba; como el que hace luto por una madre, enlutado me humillaba. Pero cuando yo tropecé ellos se alegraron y se reunieron. Se reunieron contra mí los calumniadores sin que yo lo supiera. Me despedazaban y no cesaban. Con impiedad se dedicaron al escarnio; crujieron sus dientes contra mí.
Oh Señor, ¿hasta cuándo consentirás esto? Rescata de sus destrucciones mi alma; libra mi única vida de los leones. Te confesaré en la gran congregación; te alabaré en medio de un pueblo numeroso. No se alegren de mí los que sin razón son mis enemigos ni guiñen el ojo los que me aborrecen sin causa. Porque no hablan paz, y contra los mansos de la tierra traman engaños. Ensanchan contra mí su boca diciendo: “¡Ajá, ajá, nuestros ojos lo han visto!”.
Tú lo has visto. Oh SEÑOR, no te hagas el sordo; oh Señor, no te alejes de mí. Despierta y levántate para hacer justicia a mi causa, Dios mío y Señor mío.

Lo que ya hemos visto anteriormente, vamos a seguir viéndolo más adelante en otros salmos; David le pidió al Señor que lo liberara de aquellos que se hacían llamar amigos y no lo eran, se llamaban a sí mismos dignos de confianza pero buscaban el mal para David, eran falsos testigos que querían hacer caer a David.
La frustración de David contra estas personas y el dolor que le producía es porque David se había comportado como un buen amigo para ellos. Él los visitaba y los ayudaba cuando estaban enfermos y afligidos. Él lloraba con ellos cuando sufrían alguna pérdida. David hacía luto, y hasta sacaba días para ayunar en señal de dolor y para pedir a Dios que los consolara.

Tal vez te puedes identificar con David. Quizá hayas tenido una persona que llamabas amigo, compañero, hermano. Esa persona recibía de ti todo tu amor y cariño, todo tu apoyo y tu colaboración incondicional. Y que con el paso del tiempo o de los años, tuviste una necesidad o tuviste que pasar por una prueba muy difícil, y tu sorpresa fue tan grande cuando descubres que esa persona aprovecha tu difícil momento para hablar mal de ti o engañarte, y hasta despojarte de tus bienes. O tal vez esa persona no te ayudó pudiendo hacerlo o nunca estuvo pendiente para ayudarte y para que pudieras salir de esa situación. Tú decepción fue tan grande que perdiste la confianza en el ser humano, pensando que todo el mundo sería así.
Te animo el día de hoy para que puedas hacer la oración que hizo David, pidiendo vindicación, que Dios sea el que te ayude a salir de esa prueba, a pesar de que tu amigo no lo hizo. Pídele al Señor que te guarde de aquellos que tienen un corazón falso, y que te dé entendimiento para entender cuál es un verdadero amigo con un corazón sincero, dispuesto a estar al lado tuyo en las buenas y en las malas.

Recuerda que el Señor Jesucristo también sufrió la traición. Jesús convivió y enseñó a 12 discípulos y los tuvo como amigos más cercanos. El día que Jesús fue encarcelado y procesado injustamente, todos sus discípulos huyeron y solamente uno estuvo con Jesús en la cruz. Pero uno de ellos lo traicionó por unas cuántas monedas de plata, lo acusó falsamente y lo entregó a los fariseos.
Jesús es el mejor amigo que nunca te va a fallar y comprende lo que se siente en el momento de la traición.
Te animo para que primero pongas tu confianza plena en el Señor y permitas que el Señor te defienda. También para que entiendas que vas a sufrir en algún momento la traición de tu amigo, puede ser que en la escuela vayan a hablar mal de ti, o puede ser que en el lugar de trabajo vayan a intentar quitar tu puesto, o incluso podría pasar en el lugar donde te congregas, alguien débil y sin carácter va a decepcionarte; espero que nunca te pase esto.
A pesar de todo, tienes a alguien que se puede identificar contigo, y es Jesús. Él te va a demostrar que Él está contigo y te va ayudar a crecer espiritualmente si pasas por una prueba como éstas.

Considera:
¿Alguna vez te ha fallado un amigo? ¿Fue con una intención malévola o fue un malentendido? ¿Pudieron arreglar la amistad?
Si alguna persona que se congrega en tu iglesia no valora tu amistad, ¿te alejarás del camino de Dios o no permitirías que ese mal ejemplo te aparte del amor de Dios?

October 20: A cry for false friends.

Psalms 35:4-19:
Let those be put to shame and brought to dishonor who seek after my life; let those be turned back and brought to confusion who plot my hurt. Let them be like chaff before the wind, and let the angel of the Lord chase them. Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of the Lord pursue them. For without cause they have hidden their net for me in a pit, which they have dug without cause for my life. Let destruction come upon him unexpectedly, and let his net that he has hidden catch himself; into that very destruction let him fall. And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord; it shall rejoice in His salvation. All my bones shall say, “Lord, who is like You, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, yes, the poor and the needy from him who plunders him?” Fierce witnesses rise up; they ask me things that I do not know. They reward me evil for good, to the sorrow of my soul. But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled myself with fasting; and my prayer would return to my own heart. I paced about as though he were my friend or brother; I bowed down heavily, as one who mourns for his mother.
But in my adversity they rejoiced and gathered together; attackers gathered against me, and I did not know it; they tore at me and did not cease; with ungodly mockers at feasts they gnashed at me with their teeth.
Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue me from their destructions, my precious life from the lions. I will give You thanks in the great assembly; I will praise You among many people. Let them not rejoice over me who are wrongfully my enemies; nor let them wink with the eye who hate me without a cause. For they do not speak peace, but they devise deceitful matters against the quiet ones in the land.


What we have seen previously, we are going to continue seeing it later in other psalms; David asked the Lord to free and save him from those who called themselves friends and they were not, they called themselves trustworthy but they sought evil for David, they were false witnesses who wanted to bring down David.
David's frustration with these people and the pain it caused him is because David had been a good friend to them. He visited and helped them when they were sick and afflicted. He wept with them when they suffered loss. David mourned, and even took days off to fast as a sign of pain and to ask God to comfort them.

Maybe you can relate to David. You may have had a person you called friend, partner, brother, sister. That person received from you all your love and affection, all your support and your unconditional collaboration. And that as time or years passed, you had a need or had to go through a very difficult trial, and your surprise was so big when you discover that that person takes advantage of your difficult moment to speak ill of you or deceive you, and even take away your goods. Or maybe that person did not help you when could do it or was never waiting to help you and so that you could get out of that situation. Your disappointment was so big that you lost confidence in the human being, thinking that everyone would be like that.
I encourage you today so that you can make the prayer that David made, asking for vindication, that God be the One to help you out of that trial, even though your friend did not. Ask the Lord to keep you from those who have a false heart, and to give you understanding to understand what a true friend is with a sincere heart, willing to be by your side in good times and in bad.

Remember that the Lord Jesus Christ also suffered betrayal. Jesus lived with and taught 12 disciples and had them as His closest friends. On the day that Jesus was imprisoned and wrongly prosecuted, all of His disciples fled and only one was with Jesus on the cross. But one of them betrayed Him for a few pieces of silver, falsely accused Him and handed Him over to the Pharisees.
Jesus is the best friend who will never fail you and understands what it feels like to be betrayed.
I encourage you to first put your full trust in the Lord and allow the Lord to defend you.
