In this episode laws or regulations regarding Nazarite vows are given.

If a man or woman decided to take a Nazarite vow, he or she could not drink wine or strong drink or eat anything from the vine tree.

They could not cut their hair or go near a dead body.

After the vow was completed, the hair was cut off, and put in the fire which burned under the sacrifice of the peace offering.

Perhaps revealing because of Christ’s sacrifice, We will be saved from God’s fiery wrath.

We note that once a Nazarite’s hair was cut the consecration period or status was over. He or she was no longer consecrated to the Lord.

This points us to the sad account of Samson and Delilah. It's the life story of a Nazarite man whose Nazarite status was aborted because of his love for a woman.

Samson was a strong and mighty man, who terrorized his Philistine enemies. And after being defeated many times, his enemies discovered he loved a woman named Delilah and paid her to discover the secret of his great strength. Samson told her the secret and she and his enemies cut off his hair.

After Samson’s hair was cut he was no longer consecrated to the Lord so, the Lord departed from him.

His enemies bound him, put out his eyes and he lived the rest of his life as a blind man, in the enemies camp, grinding grain like an ox.

Until one day all of the Philistine leaders gathered to mock him. He pushed upon the pillars, and the building and the leaders sitting in the rafters fell to the ground, all the Philistine rulers died.

This miraculous defeat happened because the crown of his consecration began to grow. He slew more in his death than he did when he was alive.

And so it was with a man called Jesus of Nazareth. He was and is Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, the Son of Man, the Son of David.

Though anointed and consecrated from the womb he was not called a Nazarite, he drunk wine, came near dead bodies and probably cut his hair. But through death he defeated all the rulers of darkness.

In His death, He defeated all principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high place. He is now King of Kings and Lord of Lords in heaven and on earth.

We note that an angel told Samson’s mother that he would be a Nazarite from the womb and that he would begin to deliver Israel from their enemies.

Here’s the text:

Judges 13:5 For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

Strongs says, Philistine means, rolling, migratory, to roll (in dust): roll wallow self.

The AHLB says, Philistine means, rolling around in dust or ashes as a sign of mourning rolling.

Samson would begin to deliver Israel from the Philistines, but Jesus would finish delivering Israel from the Philistines.

Yet, his deliverance would affect all people, nations, tribes and tongues.

Paul once noted that first comes the natural then the spiritual. And we see that Jesus delivered his people from the spirit beings, the spiritual Philistines, who delighted in causing the sons and daughters of God to roll around in dust and ashes in mourning.

We are told in Genesis chapter 26 verse 14, that Isaac dwelt in the land of the Philistines but they envied him because of the wells his father Abraham dug.

And because of their jealousy they stopped up the wells, and filled them with dirt.

The Philistines natural and spiriutal would always be jealous of God’s people. And seek to vex them and cause them to mourn.

Samson the Nazarite, temporarily delivered Israel from their enemies. But the curious work of Jesus the Christ is permanent, He’s delivered his people from the spiritual bullies that envied the man and the woman God created and placed in the Garden of Eden.

Jesus cut off the head of the spiritual giant, the head leader named Goliath and scattered his army. He spoiled the kingdom of darkness and set the captives free. We are free from the power of death.

In this chapter, God also told Moses to speak a blessing upon Aaron and his sons. They were also told to put God’s name upon the people and bless them.

It was their job to put his name upon the people. If he saw his name upon them he would bless them.

In the book of Revelation some will have the name of the beast written on them and be sentenced to hell.

But some will have the name of God written on them. These receive eternal life and will live in a state of eternal blessedness in the presence of God and the Lamb.

Here's the text:

Revelation 22:1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Revelation 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Revelation 22:4 And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

Revelation 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Revelation 22:6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

Revelation 22:7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
