November 6: Prophecy of David about the end of the wicked.

Psalms 52:1-5, 7-9:
Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually. Your tongue devises destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah
You love all devouring words, You deceitful tongue. God shall likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, and uproot you from the land of the living. Selah
“Here is the man who did not make God his strength, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.” But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise You forever, because You have done it; and in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good.


This psalm was written by David after he was told that Saul was persecuting him and had visited Ahimelech. He was one of the leaders of the community of priests and Levites who served in the temple of the Lord. When David was fleeing from Saul, Ahimelech helped David without knowing that it was Saul who was chasing him. Ahimelech fed him from the loaves left over from the show table, which were dedicated to God, but they were the ones that had already been presented and replaced by fresh loaves. He also gave David the sword of Goliath. When Saul realized that David was helped by Ahimelech, he questioned him; Ahimelech was sincere and told him that he did not know what was happening and that he helped him because David was a man who worked for Saul and was also his son-in-law. When Saul heard this, he did not believe him and was so angry that in his anger he ordered to kill Ahimelech and everyone in his house.
That is why David wrote this psalm describing the wickedness of Saul and the one who condemned Ahimelech. David prophesied the fall of all those who do evil and, in this case, of Saul who by his power, his position and his wealth intends to persecute David to destroy him, and in his persecution he was destroying innocent people.

What impresses me the most is that David had several opportunities to destroy Saul. David could easily have been the tool of judgment against the evil man, but David never raised his hand against Saul. He had the conviction that it would be God who would do justice on his behalf, removing him from his path.
In the end, David got his prophecy right, because it was directly God who took him out of his way. God punished Saul by falling into the hands of the enemy and dying tragically. Saul literally fell and was knocked down, and years later all the members of his family were disappearing as well. Saul's glory was short and his sin reached his offspring.

Let us have the attitude of David, that despite all the disadvantages in which he found himself, he never stopped trusting in the protection of the Lord and always believed in the just judgment of God. Everything that man sows, that he reaps. David wrote about it in Psalms 34, verse 21: "Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.”

Like David, wait on the Lord and surround yourself with people who are faithful to the Lord.

Consider this:
Have you seen how God's justice has come, helping a kind person?
Have you seen how God's judgment falls on unjust people?

Noviembre 6: Profecía de David acerca del fin del malvado.

Salmos 52:1‭-‬5‭, ‬7‭-‬9 RVA2015:
¿Por qué te jactas, oh poderoso, de la maldad contra el piadoso? Todo el día tu lengua maquina agravios; como navaja afilada produce engaño. Has amado el mal más que el bien; la mentira, más que el hablar justicia. Selah Has amado toda palabra perversa; oh, lengua engañosa. Por eso Dios te derribará para siempre; te aplastará y te arrancará de tu morada. Él te desarraigará de la tierra de los vivientes. Selah Los justos lo verán y temerán.
Se reirán de él diciendo:`
“¡Vean al hombre que no puso a Dios como su fortaleza sino que confió en sus muchas riquezas y se refugió en su maldad!”. Pero yo seré como un olivo verde en la casa de Dios; en la misericordia del SEÑOR confiaré eternamente y para siempre. Por siempre te daré gracias por lo que has hecho. En presencia de tus fieles esperaré en tu nombre, porque es bueno.


Este salmo lo escribió David después de que le dieron la noticia de que Saúl lo estaba persiguiendo y había visitado a Ahimelec. Él era uno de los líderes de la comunidad de sacerdotes y levitas que servían en el templo del Señor. Cuando David estaba huyendo de Saúl, Ahimelec ayudó a David sin saber que era Saúl quien lo estaba persiguiendo. Ahimelec le dio de comer de los panes que sobraron de la mesa de la proposición, los cuales eran dedicados a Dios, pero eran los que ya habían sido presentados y reemplazados por panes frescos. También le dio a David la espada de Goliat. Cuando Saúl se dio cuenta que David fue ayudado por Ahimelec, lo interrogó; Ahimelec fue sincero y le dijo que él no sabía lo que estaba pasando y que le ayudó porque David era un hombre que trabajaba para Saúl y además era su yerno. Saúl al escuchar esto, no le creyó y se enojó tanto que en su ira mandó a matar a Ahimelec y a todos los de su casa.
Por eso David escribió este salmo describiendo la maldad de Saúl y de aquel que condenó a Ahimelec. David profetizó la caída de todo aquel que hace maldad y, en este caso, de Saúl que por su poder, su posición y sus riquezas se propone en perseguir a David para destruirlo, y en su persecución estaba destruyendo a personas inocentes.

Lo que más me impresiona es que David tuvo varias oportunidades para destruir a Saúl. Fácilmente David hubiera podido ser la herramienta de juicio contra el hombre malo, pero David nunca levantó su mano contra Saúl. Él tenía la convicción que sería Dios el que haría justicia a su favor, quitándolo de su camino.
Al final, David acertó en su profecía, porque fue directamente Dios quien lo quitó de su camino. Dios castigó a Saúl cayendo en manos de los enemigos y muriendo de forma trágica. Literalmente Saúl cayó y fue derribado, y años después todos los miembros de su familia fueron desapareciendo también. La gloria de Saúl fue corta y su pecado alcanzó a su descendencia.

Tengamos la actitud de David, que a pesar de todas las desventajas en las que él se encontraba, nunca dejó de confiar en la protección del Señor y siempre creyó en el justo juicio de Dios. Todo lo que el hombre siembra, eso recoge. David escribió sobre eso en salmos 34, verso 21: "Matará al malo la maldad, y los que aborrecen al justo serán condenados."

Como David, espera en el Señor y rodéate de las personas que son fieles al Señor.

Considera:
¿Has visto cómo la justicia de Dios ha llegado, ayudando a una persona bondadosa?
¿Has visto cómo el juicio de Dios cae sobre las personas injustas?
