Dr. Everett Piper is president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University, located in Bartlesville for 14 years. Piper has become known for his defense of intellectual freedom. He is passionate about providing education that models a way of thought, life, and faith, in a critically engaged community honoring the primacy of Christ, the priority of Scripture, the Pursuit of Truth, and the Practice of Wisdom.
He advocates tirelessly for cultural courage grounded in the conservation of time-tested truths, and is the 2016 recipient of the Jeane Kirkpatrick Award for Academic Freedom. His commentary on religion, education, and politics challenges the intolerant tolerance of today’s academic community.
