MyNDTALK - Fighting the Fight! - Rhonda Buford
Rhonda Buford is a mother of three, grandmother of two and a Flight Attendant for a major aircraft carrier in the United States and abroad. In June of 2011, Rhonda found a large lump under her arm and in August of 2012, was later diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.
Since her diagnosis, Rhonda's journey in breast cancer has not been easy. She has had to work through chemotherapy, radiation and she has had to endure a host of set-backs, due to complications from a double mastectomy. All this, to ensure her last two children, complete their college education. She was in remission from cancer, for almost two years; and was informed in early 2017 the cancer had returned. She also continues to fight the debilitating effects of Lymphedema - Which is a complication of breast cancer. Although Rhonda is constantly challenged by life's ups and downs, Rhonda is committed to being a positive person. Her goal is to help others by sharing information on early detection of breast cancer and providing personal information on why it's so important to complete self-breast/armpit examinations. Rhonda believes that early detection and self-awareness, helps to play an intricate part of personal responsibility for the overall health women.
