show moreStarting off with the Kings area, including Coney Island Beach and Manhattan Beach. Today we're looking at a high risk of rip currents, so be extra cautious out there. Surf height reaching 2 to 3 feet, with a chance of thunderstorms and showers. If you're hitting the waves, water temperatures will be in the upper 70s. Winds coming in from the south at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
Moving over to Southern Queens, with Jacob Riis Park and Rockaway Beach. Similar conditions here - high rip current risk, surf heights of 2 to 4 feet, and winds picking up to 15 to 20 miles per hour in the afternoon.
Now for Southern Nassau, covering Atlantic Beach, Long Beach, Lido Beach, and Jones Beach. Rip current risk remains high, surf heights of 2 to 4 feet, and a slight chance of showers. Make sure to keep an eye on those local patrols.
Last but not least, in Southwestern Suffolk including Gilgo State Park and Robert Moses State Park. Expect a moderate rip current risk today with surf heights of 2 to 4 feet. The surf temperature will be in the upper 60s, so get ready for a refreshing dip.
And in Southeastern Suffolk, from Smith Point to Ditch Plains. Tomorrow, get ready for a high rip current risk, surf heights of 4 to 6 feet, and the chance of thunderstorms. It's going to be a wild one out there, so be prepared.
Remember, safety first! Always swim near a lifeguard and have a flotation device handy. And if caught in a rip current, go with the flow, don't fight it. Stay safe and enjoy the waves!
