Ahoy there surfers and beach lovers! Here's your latest surf zone forecast for the shores of New York. So, grab your boards and let's dive right in!
For Kings (Brooklyn), including Coney Island Beach and Manhattan Beach:
Today, we're looking at a moderate rip current risk with surf heights starting at around 1 foot and building to 2 to 3 feet in the afternoon. The UV index is very high, so don't forget your sunscreen, and the surf temperature will be in the upper 60s. Expect mostly sunny skies with a high temperature in the upper 70s. Winds will be coming from the south, starting at around 5 mph but picking up to 15 to 20 mph later.
Independence Day will bring similar conditions with a moderate rip current risk, slightly higher surf heights, and a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs around 80 with south winds at 10 to 15 mph.
Moving into the weekend, we'll see a mix of sun and clouds with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the lower 80s with varying wind speeds.
Remember, always check with local beach patrols about rip currents, swim near a lifeguard, and keep a flotation device with you. If caught in a rip current, relax and float, don't fight it! Stay safe out there!
