Hey there awesome surfers and beachgoers! Grab your boards because we've got a wicked surf forecast coming your way for the New York area. Let's dive in!

Starting with Kings (Brooklyn), we've got a moderate rip current risk today. The surf height is around 5 feet - that's some decent waves! Thunderstorms are possible, but don't let that dampen your spirits. The UV index is high, so make sure to slather on that sunscreen. The surf temperature is in the upper 60s, making for a refreshing dip. With cloudy weather and showers likely, it's the perfect day to catch some waves. High temperature around 80 with southwest winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour.

Moving on to Friday, expect mostly sunny skies, a high temperature in the lower 80s, and west winds at 5 to 10 miles per hour. It's shaping up to be a stellar beach day!

Now over to Southern Queens, where we've got a similar setup with a moderate rip current risk and 5-foot surf height. Thunderstorms are possible, but the UV index remains high. The surf temperature is in the mid-60s, perfect for a surf session. Highs today in the upper 70s with southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph.

Friday brings mostly sunny weather with a high around 80, and west winds at 5 to 10 mph. Get ready for some fun in the sun!

For Southern Nassau, the story is quite alike - moderate rip current risk, 5-foot surf height, and a chance of thunderstorms today. The UV index remains high, so don't forget your sunscreen. Expect mostly cloudy skies with showers likely. Highs in the upper 70s with southwest winds at around 15 mph.

Looking forward to Friday, it's set to be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 70s and west winds shifting to southwest in the afternoon.

Lastly, for Southwestern Suffolk and Southeastern Suffolk, we're seeing a high rip current risk today with 5-foot surf heights. Thunderstorms are possible with high UV indices. Remember to stay safe in the water!

Saturday through Monday will bring sunny skies and a chance of showers, so keep an eye on the weather if you plan to hit the beach.

Remember, regardless of where you catch a wave, always swim near a lifeguard and have a flotation device handy. If caught in a rip current, float and signal for help.
