A collection of human remains discovered at a construction site in Lebanon earlier in September has been confirmed to belong to a missing woman.

On Monday, September 23, the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) announced that DNA testing had identified the remains as those of 23-year-old Blanca Guadalupe Berrios Orellana.

Orellana was reported missing by her mother on August 21, after she was last seen at her apartment in Antioch a few days prior. Her mother stated that the 23-year-old had mentioned plans to visit a family member in Murfreesboro.

Some days, I think they took her and some days, I don’t really think anything, Ines Berrios, Blanca’s mother, conveyed to News 2 through a translator.

Berrios indicated that Orellana's vehicle was located parked at her stepfather's residence, yet the family has been unable to contact him.

On September 12, a lead directed investigators to a residence in Lebanon, where neighbors had observed Orellana working just weeks prior to her disappearance.

Orellana was reportedly employed in the cleaning industry. However, authorities have not disclosed the specific reasons that led them to the location off Burnt House Road, where her remains were ultimately discovered.
