Northern Rivers metal outfit Minds?End have wasted no time shaking off the shackles of COVID, picking up where they left off almost by going straight for the jugular. Despite playing...
show moreDespite playing their first show towards the end of 2019 and building up a solid head of steam before having the momentum pulled from under them, Minds?End busied themselves recording, eventually releasing their debut EP From Ashes To Embers in mid-2020.
Rather than sit back and think about what might have been, Minds?End burst back onto the live scene with performances at The Other Festival and Southside Of Hell and are now holed up in Studio 101 with Lucius Borich of COG at the helm of their soon to be released single “The Agenda”.
Drummer Simon Benham sat down with HEAVY earlier this week to discuss the new single and more.
"It's going well,” he enthused. “We’re enjoying the process. He (Borich) is very professional but demands the best out of you. I would recommend anyone to go there and record for sure. In my opinion, this is our heaviest track and we're just keen to get it out there. We gave it a couple of runs live there to break the ground and test it a bit and it’s working well. We can’t wait to get it out"
If you have heard Minds?End live you would know how big a call it is to call “The Agenda” their heaviest track to date, with Benham reiterating the point when pressed on what makes it so.
"The intensity of it,” he nodded. “With each track we’re progressing as a four-piece and getting a lot better and working well together. It’s just heavy!"
In the full interview, Simon discusses working with Lucius, being forced into lockdown early in their career, how they kept themselves relevant in that period, playing live, upcoming shows, future new music and more.
