Description
Hey there, folks! Today we're diving into the Coastal Waters Forecast for Florida straight from the National Weather Service in Miami. Get ready for some maritime details you didn't know...
show moreFor those sailing or fishing off the Atlantic coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Ocean Reef, or the Gulf coastal waters from East Cape Sable to Bonita Beach, here's the lowdown:
We're looking at a mix of gentle to moderate southeasterly breezes throughout the week as high pressure hangs out over the western Atlantic. Be prepared for scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms popping up daily. Stay alert, as winds and waves may get a bit feisty around thunderstorms.
If you're venturing near the Gulf Stream, no major hazards to worry about, so sail on safely!
Over at the Coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach and beyond, small craft should exercise caution. Today brings east to southeast winds at 10 to 15 knots with gusts up to 20 knots, so hold onto your hats! Seas will be around 2 to 3 feet with a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.
As we head into the weekend, expect more of the same with winds calming to 5 to 10 knots and seas less than 2 feet. But keep an eye out for those showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoons.
For all you lake lovers, Lake Okeechobee is looking relatively calm with east to southeast winds at 5 to 10 knots. Showers and thunderstorms are forecasted, so keep an umbrella handy!
And Biscayne Bay enthusiasts, small craft should also exercise caution today with east to southeast winds at 10 to 15 knots. Expect a moderate chop and a chance of showers and thunderstorms into the evening.
