Story Transcript:
Et: Keset päikeselist Tallinnat, kus vanalinna kivid kõnelevad igast ajastust, jalutasid Mari ja Juhan käsikäes mööda kitsaid tänavaid.
En: In the sunny Tallinn, where the cobblestones of the Old Town speak of every era, Mari and Juhan walked hand in hand along the narrow streets.
En: They enjoyed the sunshine and listened to the joyful laughs of tourists.
Et: Äkki märkasid nad rahvahulka Raekoja platsil.
En: Suddenly, they noticed a crowd at the Town Hall Square.
En: The square was full of people dressed in medieval clothes and playing instruments.
Et: "Mari, vaata! Näib, et siin toimub midagi erilist," ütles Juhan.
En: "Mari, look! It seems something special is happening here," said Juhan.
Et: "Jah, lähme uurime," vastas Mari.
En: "Yes, let's check it out," replied Mari.
En: They joined the others and soon realized they had stumbled upon a medieval reenactment event.
En: The unseen props and authentic costumes enchanted them.
En: Juhan jokingly thought that he could amuse the tourists and began loudly reciting "historical" facts.
Et: "Kas teadsite," alustas Juhan, "et sellel platsil leiutati esimene jäätee 1378. aastal?"
En: "Did you know," Juhan began, "that the first iced tea was invented in this square in 1378?"
En: Mari added, "And right here, under this tree, two dogs met and invented the first collar!"
Et: Turistid kuulasid põnevusega ja klõpsisid fotosid.
En: The tourists listened with interest and clicked photos.
Et: Kuid peagi astusid neile ligi mõned tõelised taaslavastajad.
En: But soon, some real reenactors approached them.
En: From their evident attire and serious expressions, it was clear they took their roles very seriously.
En: "Excuse me, but your information is not accurate," said a young man in medieval attire.
Nende juttude levitamine eksitab turiste."
En: "Ice cream was invented in Italy, and there are no dogs living in this square. Spreading these stories misleads tourists."
Et: Mari ja Juhan punastasid.
En: Mari and Juhan blushed.
En: They apologized and promised not to tell made-up stories anymore.
En: "You are very close to medieval culture, and it is important to tell the truth," remarked the reenactor with a smile.
En: Lesson learned, Mari and Juhan left the square peacefully and continued their walk with fewer jokes.
En: They decided it was time to learn real history and visit a museum.
En: In the evening, as the sun set and the Old Town was steeped in nostalgia, Juhan said, "Today was a very educational day."
Et: "Jah," vastas Mari. "Järgmisel korral peaksime rohkem teadma, millest räägime."
En: "Yes," Mari replied. "Next time, we should know more about what we're talking about."
En: They laughed together and went home, hand in hand, appreciating Tallinn and its true history.
