A Texas A&M professor who served two terms on the College Station city council has received a lifetime achievement award for his academic work.
John Crompton recently received the honor from the Travel and Tourism Research Association.
Dr. Crompton, who was on the council from 2005 through 2011, has taught at A&M for 44 years.
A city park that bears his name is located at Holleman West and Jones-Butler Road.
