Lida Abdul (Kabul, 1973) is a video and performance artist who addresses themes of devastation, displacement, identity, and the body, including how each interacts with architecture. Her artworks reflect on cultural identities and migrations, the exile and political instability of his country and political resistance. Having left Afghanistan after the Soviet invasion in 1979, Abdul lived in India and Germany before settling in the United States (in Los Angeles). She received Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Political Science and Philosophy before completing a Master of Fine Arts at the University of California in 2000.
