The L'Orange Type of Music.
Billie Holiday influenced the musician and producer, L'Orange. He said when he decided to work on his project, he wanted to approach it with respect for Billie Holiday's music. The music you've just heard is an example by me of how Jazz and Hip Hop can be mixed together.
That's what the producer L'Orange has done with his album, "Old Soul". I think he has done some pretty amazing work mixing two different types of music together.
I like the way L'Orange does his music using Billie Holiday samples. He's able to mix leaving a lot of Billie Holiday vocals in and not taking so much of the Jazz sound out as he adds the hip hop beat. The way L'Orange mixes, you can enjoy all of the music of today and yesterday.
