Jueces 15: Cayendo en el espiral de la destrucción.

Jueces 15:1‭-‬11 RVA2015:
Después de algún tiempo, en los días de la siega del trigo, Sansón fue a visitar a su mujer llevándole un cabrito del rebaño. Y pensó: “Me uniré a mi mujer en el cuarto”. Pero el padre de ella no lo dejó entrar. El padre de ella dijo: —Pensé que la aborrecías del todo y se la di a tu compañero. Pero su hermana menor, ¿no es más hermosa que ella? Tómala, por favor, para ti en su lugar.
Sansón le respondió: —¡Esta vez yo quedaré sin culpa ante los filisteos, si les hago algún mal! Sansón se fue, atrapó trescientas zorras, tomó teas y atando las zorras por las colas, puso una tea entre cada dos colas. Después prendió fuego a las teas, soltó las zorras en los trigales de los filisteos, y quemó las gavillas y la mies por segar, y hasta las viñas y los olivares. Entonces los filisteos preguntaron: —¿Quién ha hecho esto? Y les respondieron: —Sansón, el yerno del timnateo, porque este le quitó su mujer y se la dio a su compañero. Los filisteos fueron y quemaron a la mujer y a su padre. Entonces Sansón les dijo: —Puesto que han actuado así, ¡ciertamente no pararé hasta haberme vengado de ustedes! Entonces los golpeó en el muslo y en la cadera, con gran mortandad.
Luego descendió y habitó en la cueva de la peña de Etam. Entonces los filisteos subieron y acamparon en Judá, extendiéndose hasta Leji. Y los hombres de Judá les preguntaron: —¿Por qué han subido contra nosotros? Ellos respondieron: —Hemos subido para prender a Sansón, a fin de hacerle lo mismo que él nos ha hecho. Entonces bajaron tres mil hombres de Judá a la cueva de la peña de Etam y preguntaron a Sansón: —¿No sabes tú que los filisteos dominan sobre nosotros? ¿Qué es esto que nos has hecho? Él les respondió: —Lo mismo que ellos me han hecho a mí, eso les he hecho yo a ellos.

Ayer vimos cómo Sansón cometió actos trágicos que trajo mucho dolor a su vida, su familia y su pueblo. El plan de Dios era levantar jueces que pudieran ser de gran ejemplo para el pueblo y los convirtiera al camino de Dios otra vez. Sin embargo, vemos que Sansón decidió hacer su vida a su manera. Sansón volvió a la casa de su prometida y se sintió decepcionado al saber que ya había sido dada a un amigo suyo. Esto desencadenó un espiral de tragedias, motivados por el odio y la venganza. También la vida espiritual de Sansón comenzó a deteriorarse, a salirse de control.
Mañana veremos más acciones vergonzosas de Sansón, abusando del poder que Dios le había confiado.

Notemos que Sansón era un hombre muy inteligente, astuto y fuerte, pero también era terco, rencoroso y altivo. No aprendió la lección, él añadió más dolor a su vida.
Este es un ejemplo de que muchas veces, si no controlamos nuestras emociones, vamos a caer en un espiral de malas decisiones, mayores decepciones y consecuencias peores que las anteriores.
El conflicto contra los filisteos aumentó, Dios los castigó por medio de Sansón pero también Sansón no mejoró su situación sentimental, emocional y espiritual. Aun así, Dios tuvo misericordia de él, salvándolo de morir de sed, de morir de la mano de los filisteos y dándole otra oportunidad de madurar y arreglar su vida personal. Pero Sansón se empecinó en hacer su propia voluntad y seguir descendiendo por el espiral de seguir su propio instinto y apoyarse en su propia opinión.
Es por eso que el proverbista nos aconseja en Proverbios 3:7: “No seas sabio en tu propia opinión: Teme al SEÑOR y apártate del mal,..”
Y el apóstol Pablo aconsejó a Timoteo y a todos nosotros hoy en 2 Timoteo 2:22: “Huye, pues, de las pasiones juveniles y sigue la justicia, la fe, el amor y la paz con los que de corazón puro invocan al Señor.”

Espero que puedas vivir bajo la voluntad de Dios, y que puedas transmitir esta enseñanza a tus hijos adolescentes y jóvenes para que no caigan en la trampa de Sansón y, en vez de parar y recapacitar cuando están sufriendo, continúen en ese círculo vicioso de malos hábitos, malas decisiones, malos actos que llevan a terribles consecuencias.

Judges 15: Falling into the spiral of destruction.

Judges 15:1-11:
After a while, in the time of wheat harvest, it happened that Samson visited his wife with a young goat. And he said, “Let me go in to my wife, into her room.” But her father would not permit him to go in.
Her father said, “I really thought that you thoroughly hated her; therefore I gave her to your companion. Is not her younger sister better than she? Please, take her instead.”
And Samson said to them, “This time I shall be blameless regarding the Philistines if I harm them!” Then Samson went and caught three hundred foxes; and he took torches, turned the foxes tail to tail, and put a torch between each pair of tails. When he had set the torches on fire, he let the foxes go into the standing grain of the Philistines, and burned up both the shocks and the standing grain, as well as the vineyards and olive groves.
Then the Philistines said, “Who has done this?”
And they answered, “Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite, because he has taken his wife and given her to his companion.” So the Philistines came up and burned her and her father with fire.
Samson said to them, “Since you would do a thing like this, I will surely take revenge on you, and after that I will cease.” So he attacked them hip and thigh with a great slaughter; then he went down and dwelt in the cleft of the rock of Etam.
Now the Philistines went up, encamped in Judah, and deployed themselves against Lehi. And the men of Judah said, “Why have you come up against us?”
So they answered, “We have come up to arrest Samson, to do to him as he has done to us.”
Then three thousand men of Judah went down to the cleft of the rock of Etam, and said to Samson, “Do you not know that the Philistines rule over us? What is this you have done to us?”
And he said to them, “As they did to me, so I have done to them.”

Yesterday we saw how Samson committed tragic acts that brought much pain to his life, his family and his people. God's plan was to raise up judges who could be a great example to the people and turn them to God's way again. However, we see that Samson decided to have his life his way. Samson returned to his fiancée's house and was disappointed to learn that she had already been given to a friend of his. This triggered a spiral of tragedies, motivated by hatred and revenge. Also Samson's spiritual life began to deteriorate, to get out of control.
Tomorrow we will see more shameful actions of Samson, abusing the power that God had entrusted to him.

Note that Samson was a very intelligent, astute and strong man, but he was also stubborn, spiteful, and haughty. He didn't learn his lesson, he added more pain to his life.
This is an example that many times, if we do not control our emotions, we will fall into a spiral of bad decisions, greater disappointments and worse consequences than the previous ones.
The conflict against the Philistines increased, God punished them through Samson but Samson also did not improve his sentimental, emotional and spiritual situation. Even so, God had mercy on him, saving him from dying of thirst, from dying at the hands of the Philistines and giving him another opportunity to mature and fix his personal life. But Samson was determined to do his own thing and keep going down the spiral of following his own instinct and relying on his own opinion.
That is why the proverbist advises us in Proverbs 3:7: “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil.”
And the apostle Paul advised Timothy and all of us today in 2 Timothy 2:22: “Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

I hope that you can live under the will of God, and that you can transmit this teaching to your adolescent and young children so that they do not fall into Samson's trap and, instead of stopping and reconsidering when they are suffering, continue in that vicious circle of bad habits, bad decisions, bad acts that lead to terrible consequences.
