Josué 4: Creando ejemplos visibles de tus milagros.

Josué 4:4‭-‬11 RVA2015:
Josué llamó a los doce hombres a quienes había designado de entre los hijos de Israel, uno de cada tribu, y les dijo Josué: —Pasen delante del arca del SEÑOR su Dios hasta la mitad del Jordán, y cada uno de ustedes tome una piedra sobre su hombro, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel, para que esto sea señal entre ustedes. Y cuando sus hijos les pregunten en el futuro, diciendo: “¿Qué significan para ustedes estas piedras?”, les responderán: “Las aguas del Jordán fueron cortadas ante el arca del pacto del SEÑOR. Cuando esta cruzó el Jordán, las aguas del Jordán fueron cortadas, por lo cual estas piedras sirven de monumento conmemorativo a los hijos de Israel, para siempre”. Los hijos de Israel hicieron como les mandó Josué: Tomaron doce piedras de en medio del Jordán, como el SEÑOR había dicho a Josué, conforme al número de las tribus de los hijos de Israel. Las llevaron consigo al lugar donde pasaron la noche y las colocaron allí. Josué también erigió doce piedras en medio del Jordán, en el lugar donde estuvieron los pies de los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca del pacto. Y están allí hasta el día de hoy. Los sacerdotes que llevaban el arca se quedaron de pie en medio del Jordán, hasta que se cumplió todo lo que el SEÑOR había mandado a Josué que hablara al pueblo, conforme a todo lo que Moisés había mandado a Josué. Y el pueblo se dio prisa y cruzó. Aconteció que cuando todo el pueblo acabó de cruzar, también cruzó el arca del SEÑOR con los sacerdotes, en presencia del pueblo.

Las cosas espirituales no se pueden ver. Las virtudes como el amor, la fe, la paciencia y la gloria de Dios son cosas que las desarrollamos en nuestra alma pero no se pueden ver físicamente. Pero sí las podemos explicar con acciones que demuestran estas virtudes.
Una manera para mostrar nuestra fe son con ejemplos de esos momentos cuando esta fe fue puesta en acción y ocurrió un milagro, cuando invocamos a Dios y sucedieron cosas maravillosas.

Eso fue lo que hizo Josué con el pueblo de Israel. Josue ordenó que fueran hasta la mitad del río Jordán y tomarán doce piedras, cada una representando a cada tribu de Israel.
Estas piedras debían ponerse en la orilla como un monumento al milagro glorioso del río Jordán.
También Josué erigió piedras en medio del río Jordán en memoria del lugar donde los sacerdotes estuvieron de pie para que todo el pueblo pasara en seco.
Josué quería atraer la atención de la generación futura para que tuvieran curiosidad y preguntaran el significado de ese monumento. Cuando esto pasara, los adultos debían prepararse para explicar a sus hijos el milagro que Dios hizo y la razón por la cual Dios lo hizo. Ellos debían aprovechar ese momento para instruir a la nueva generación y recordarles que ellos eran un pueblo escogido por Dios, que ellos habían salido de la esclavitud para experimentar la libertad en una tierra que Dios les dió. Que todo lo que ellos tenían hoy en día había sido por medio de sucesos extraordinarios que Dios había hecho; cosas sobrenaturales con sus antepasados.

Realmente todo ser humano, en general, tiene la tendencia de olvidar fácilmente los momentos cuando estuvo en problemas y también la forma en que fue rescatado.
Muchos reciben bendiciones pero se olvidan quién fue el que se las dió. Muchos reciben favores y se olvidan quién fue el que los socorrió.
Es por eso que necesitamos tener monumentos que nos recuerden esas acciones milagrosas que el Señor ha hecho en nosotros. Busquemos medios para que nuestros hijos puedan ver lo que Dios hizo en nosotros y ellos puedan preguntarnos cómo fue que Dios nos ayudó en esos momentos cuando estábamos en tinieblas.
Escoge una fecha del calendario y haz algo especial ese día, conmemorando el día que Dios hizo un milagro en ti. Sea una sanidad, o cuando restauró tu matrimonio, o cuando regresaste al camino de Dios. Que puedas tomar el tiempo para hacer una oración especial o salir a algún lugar con tus hijos y explicarles la razón por la cual ese día es especial para ti.
Puedes comprar un objeto que represente ese momento y tenerlo en tu habitación o en la sala de tu casa, a la vista de ellos para que sepan lo que Dios hizo en ti.
En el libro de Hebreos encontramos este mismo consejo de recordar los momentos de prueba y como pudimos permanecer firmes hasta el final.
Hebreos 10:32: “Recuerden aquellos días cuando acababan de conocer la verdad. Enfrentaron muchos sufrimientos, pero siguieron firmes.”

Espero que puedas recordar las maravillas de Dios y que puedas transmitir esas obras maravillosas a tu generación y la siguiente generación que viene.

Joshua 4: Creating visible examples of your miracles.

Joshua 4:4-11:
Then Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the children of Israel, one man from every tribe; and Joshua said to them: “Cross over before the ark of the Lord your God into the midst of the Jordan, and each one of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, that this may be a sign among you when your children ask in time to come, saying, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ Then you shall answer them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the Lord; when it crossed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. And these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel forever.”
And the children of Israel did so, just as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones from the midst of the Jordan, as the Lord had spoken to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them to the place where they lodged, and laid them down there. Then Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there to this day.
So the priests who bore the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until everything was finished that the Lord had commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua; and the people hurried and crossed over. Then it came to pass, when all the people had completely crossed over, that the ark of the Lord and the priests crossed over in the presence of the people.

Spiritual things cannot be seen. Virtues such as love, faith, patience and the glory of God are things that we develop in our soul but cannot be seen physically. But we can explain with examples actions that demonstrate these virtues.
One way to show our faith is with examples of those moments when this faith was put into action and a miracle happened, when we invoke God and wonderful things happen.

That was what Joshua did with the people of Israel. Josue ordered them to go to the middle of the Jordan River and take twelve stones, each one representing each tribe of Israel.
These stones were to be placed on the shore as a monument to the glorious miracle of the Jordan River.
Joshua also built stones in the middle of the Jordan River in memory of the place where the priests stood so that all the people would pass on dry ground.
Joshua wanted to attract the attention of the future generation so that they would be curious and ask the meaning of that monument. When this happens, adults should be prepared to explain to their children the miracle that God did and why God did it. They were to take advantage of that moment to instruct the new generation and remind them that they were a people chosen by God, that they had come out of slavery to experience freedom in a land that God gave them. That everything they had today had been through extraordinary events that God had done; supernatural things with their ancestors.

Really every human being, in general, has the tendency to easily forget the moments when they were in trouble and also the way they were rescued.
Many receive blessings but forget who gave them to them. Many receive favors and forget who it was that helped them.
That is why we need to have monuments that remind us of those miraculous actions that the Lord has done in us. Let's find ways so that our children can see what God did in us and they can ask us how it was that God helped us in those moments when we were in darkness.
Choose a date on the calendar and do something special on that day, commemorating the day that God performed a miracle in you. Be it a healing, or when He restored your marriage, or when you got back on God's path. That you can take the time to say a special prayer or go somewhere with your children and explain to them why that day is special to you.
You can buy an object that represents that moment and have it in your room or in the living room of your house, in view of them so that they know what God did in you.
In the book of Hebrews we find this same advice to remember the times of trial and how we were able to stand firm until the end.
Hebrews 10:32: “Remember those earlier days after you had received the light, when you endured in a great conflict full of suffering.” (NIV)

I hope that you can remember the wonders of God and that you can transmit those wonderful works to your generation and the next generation to come.
