As part of Alphabetti Theatre’s Listen Up project comes the fifth of nine short plays written by underrepresented writers in the North East.

Liam and his mum decided to become a foster family. Now he invites you to listen to his side of the story. The side that doesn't get asked about. Discover the highs, the lows, the brutal truths and emotions that come along with foster caring and inevitably, letting go. A beautiful heart wrenching drama about a side we don’t hear about in the foster system.

Directed by Paula Penman

Dramaturged & Produced by Ali Pritchard

Recording, Editing & Sound Design by Matt Jamie

Performed by Arabella Arnott & Bob Nicholson

Beth is an 23 year old emerging northern writer and actor. Jigsaw is about foster caring from the perspective of a Foster Carer's birth child- something she experienced. It's a specific voice in society which rarely gets heard, she feel it's under, and sometimes, falsely represented within media. It's her mission to write something which gives an accurate insight into the foster caring experience. Away from writing, she loves creating comedy sketches with her best friend, playing the ukulele, performing their own spoken word and hiking in the lakes!
