After their first defeat Jesus planned an ambush for the city of Gai. They armed thirty-thousand for war, placed men behind the city, and after attacking retreated as before. Gai was so excited they pursued leaving their gates open and their city empty. Jesus then raised his spear and the men lieing in wait entered and burned the city and then surrounded Gai, utterly killing everyone and hanging the king on a tree until nightfall.
