Stackhouse was a premier player from the time he was a sophomore in high school. He was the state player of the year for North Carolina in 1991–92, leading Kinston (N.C) High School to the state finals. Jerry Stackhouse played college basketball for the North Carolina Tarheels with Rasheed Wallace. Together they helped lead the Tar Heels to the NCAA Final Four in 1995. There were some who considered Stackhouse the top prep player to come out of NC since Michael Jordan.

Now Jerry is a basketball coach and former professional player who is the head coach of the Vanderbilt Commodores men's team. He played 18 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and was a two-time NBA All-Star. He formerly was the head coach of Raptors 905 and an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors and Memphis Grizzlies. Additionally, he has worked as an NBA TV analyst.

According to headlines, Jerry Stackhouse is the SEC Co- Coach of the year. It was announced on March 6, 2023.

I think Stackhouse has always done well in his career. Whenever Stackhouse name came up, Michael Jordan’s name sometimes came up. When you’ve seen Stackhouse play on Carolina’s team, you just couldn’t help mentioning Jordan. He looked like the next Michael Jordan flying in the air Slam dunking the ball and shooting from long distance.

In an interview, Stackhouse revealed he wished he had never played with Jordan on the Washington Wizards. He said: It was really challenging to be able to be in a situation with an idol who at this particular point, I felt like I was a better player.”

Well Stackhouse was truly an outstanding player. To me, there was greatness also in himself though he played with Jordan. I’m Gail Nobles. Tune in next time for more EPS.
