Welcome back to another great week of Irish Football Weekly!!! Josh and Tony have a great deal to talk about, whether it is North Carolina State, the rest of the Irish schedule, the weekly preparation for the coaches and players, or how our Irish gave the Trojans of USC a demoralizing loss last Saturday.
The guys begin to talk about the offense, especially Josh Adams and Brandon Wimbush. The offensive line has been nothing short of great all year long, and they deserve a ton of praise for their performances so far. Josh rattles off some pretty interesting statistics about the Irish that will include both the offense and defense.
Tony discusses the tough opponent this week, North Carolina State. The Wolfpack have to travel to Notre Dame Stadium to play at approximately 3:30 p.m.(shown on NBC). Tony talks about some big weapons that N.C. State team has that could potentially be threats against the Fighting Irish this weekend. Josh mentions that the staff should be saying some different things this week to the Irish players to "get their mind right" for this week's test at home.
Tony and Josh talk briefly about the rest of the schedule and how that could play out for the Irish. Also, ideally the Irish could control their own destiny for the rest of the season. Being successful is hard and some key points are brought up as they discuss the schedule, which would make for an interesting chat about the Irish being in the Top 4 for the College Football Playoff system.
The Irish win this past week gave all Irish fans a great feeling to how the season has gone so far and where it could go from here on out. As a member of that program, you have to feel good after a win like that, especially against "those guys". The reality in this case is that you cannot get too excited about how the Irish are at this point in the season. We can be happy that they are a much different team than a year ago, but nothing has really been accomplished this year at this point, unless we count winning some fans back into this Irish Football Fan group. Josh and Tony (along with many others) want that program to continue to grow and the only way to do that is to keep getting better, don't look passed an opponent, and to not let the moment seize them.
