Welcome to the fourth week of Irish Football Weekly! Josh and Tony express their thoughts on how the Irish came out in the second half to make a statement against the Eagles of Boston College. Brandon Wimbush, who broke a school record for rushing as a quarterback, played well from that stand point. The guys talk about how the offense needs to be more diverse to be successful for the whole season. Tony wants Dexter Williams to have a bigger role within the offense to assist within the running game. This will help Josh Adams and how he can be fresh for the duration of the season. Tony wants the ball to the receivers more, so that can open things up for the whole offense. More specifically, Equanimeous St. Brown getting more touches to get both him and Brandon comfortable with each other in the game.

Josh discusses the post-game conference comments by Coach Kelly and how the switch turned "on" for the Irish to takeover the game in the second half. Things like this help us understand the relationships among the coaches and players and it seems to be better than last year.

As far as the defense goes, they gave up too many yards, but they did not breakdown and give up a ton of points. That shows a ton of heart from that defense. The defense looks like a unit that is starting to understand each other more during the game and to know where each other is going to be when the ball is snapped. The attitude needs to continue to be established in games to help their play. The redzone defense did a great job and Josh and Tony talk about that great statistic for the Irish.

The Irish take on the Spartans of Michigan State on Saturday, September 23rd at 8p.m on FOX. Both teams having been playing well defensively this year, and we will see if the Irish offense can break through against the Spartans defense to bring home a win for the third time this season. They did mention though that games like this seem to come down to other factors, but you will have to listen to the show to find out what those factors are!!!

Tony continues to try to stay in the lead in the "Three Toughest Picks" segment. They have some very difficult picks this week and we will see how they both do! Josh mentions a fact about the two coaches and how they share a similarity with each other.

Don't forget to add Josh (Benjamin) and Tony (Hunter) on Facebook to talk Irish football!!! Also, Josh has Twitter! Follow him @coachjb4!!

Go Irish! Peace!
