"I am very happy and excited by the opportunity which is being offered to me. EBRI certainly opened a new door to my career. As an Afghan female and refugee I can tell you we have lost many opportunities along the way and encountered serious difficulties to pursue our education. Living in Afghanistan is not a safe place, and particularly education cannot keep up the way it is supposed to. That is even harder to imagine that this unsafe country is yet a home to many boys and girls like me. When I was leaving the county I encountered a group of teenage girls with white scarf heading towards their school, I saw them happy but in a frame that you cannot imagine their future, at that time I broke in tears it was beautiful to see the hope in their eyes despite all the dust and smokes around due to poverty and war. The struggle for women's education is even harder in Afghanistan as there are many restrictions.
I just hope that I can be of some assistance to promote education to the people whom they could have been me..if life could have chosen a different path. Thank you!"
