show moreThere are different types of hair loss. The most common is a genetically inherited hair loss or male pattern baldness. This created thinning hair on the top of their head. This is all really about genetic factors. Men can start thinning in there 20's where as women are less likely to have as much noticeable hair loss. Hormones also play a huge factor in hair loss as well.
There are a few things that people can do to slow down or prevent hair loss. The right approach must be taken or it wont's work. Since the problem is genetic and hormonal, both of those issues must be addressed. Massaging your scalp and using magic shampoos don't really seem to do much because the problem really isn't a dirty scalp. One thing men can do is talk to your doctor about a prescription drug called Finasteride. This will stop a mans body from producing the hormones that cause hair loss. Rogaine has been around for a long period of time and was actually used to treat high blood pressure. When applied topically it generally makes your hair think its more alive than it actually is. The problem with Rogaine is that it requires a huge amount of commitment; you have to use it everyday. If you stop using Rogaine the results go away. Hair transplant is actually very successful. The key to good hair transplant results is the surgeon you choose. Hair transplant surgery is very artistic and a skilled doctor will yield a very different result than someone who is not as skilled in the procedure.
