Many people who respond to something are opposed to it. That's understandable. People are less motivated when they agree than when they disagree. And there's less to say when you agree. You could elaborate on something expressed by the author, but he has most likely already addressed the most intriguing aspects. When you disagree with him, you're treading on territory he hasn't yet explored.
