Q1: How did you start your journey in the automotive industry?
A1: I began by repainting my Ford Mustang to look like a racecar and adding high-performance and safety features. To test my abilities, I entered and won local races in Southern California.
Q2: What was your vision when you launched Saleen Autosport in 1983?
A2: I wanted to bring racecar-style performance to streetcars. I focused on creating special edition vehicles that could generate income to support my racing ambitions.
Q3: How did you handle the challenges of building your first racecar engine?
A3: I faced multiple failures, but each taught me valuable lessons. The first engine I built lasted only seconds, but I persisted, learning from each mistake until I succeeded.
Q4: What was your approach when the Chinese government nationalized your manufacturing plant
A4: I viewed it as a painful but essential learning experience. While it was a significant setback, I focused on what I could control and planned ways to move forward.

A5: I rely on my tenacity and never-say-never attitude. I treat each failure as a chapter in my story and an opportunity to learn and grow.
