The curator Aman Mojadidi explains the poetics and artworks of Hangama Amiri, one of the four women artists of Afghan origin inside the exhibition «Qatra Qatra/Drop by Drop. Perspectives from Afghanistan» organized by Fondazione Imago Mundi at Gallerie delle Prigioni in Treviso, until January 9, 2022.

Hangama Amiri (Kabul, 1989) is an Afghan-Canadian painter and mixed-media artist, whose work concentrates on topics such as feminism, geopolitics, and gender. Having left Afghanist4n after the Talib4n takeover in the 1990s (when she was 6 years old), as a refugee, Amiri grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada. She received a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) from NSCAD in Canada and completed her MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in the Painting & Printmaking Department at Yale University in 2020. Amiri exhibits her work internationally including in Canada, Italy, France, the USA, and Bulgaria. She is currently based in New Haven, Connecticut, USA.
