OP has a great relationship with his girlfriend, the only problem is that he has never met her social circle of friends, and every time he asks to be included in her plans she either gives him an excuse or flat-out refuses. This all came to a head when she told him she didn't want him there because she would feel uncomfortable talking to her friends with him present.
