In today's episode of the Generation of Silence segment, the topic of discussion will be about Society's Perception of Child Sexual Abuse. Child abuse/sexual abuse does not limit itself to just one gender or race. Everyone is susceptible to it! The primary focus is on the African American household and how this has had its affects on us since slavery. Two key points of discussion will be: 1. Kids' needs come last. 2. Girls are weak, boys are strong. When listening to outside influences such as other kids, society, and media, the messages being sent out are: a) Kids are expendable b) Men's needs matter most. and c) Blacks are viewed as inferior.
