Story Transcript:

It: In una Roma bagnata dal sole primaverile, sull'amata cornice di Piazza Navona, s'incontravano come sempre tre amici: Marco, Sofia e Giuseppe.
En: In a sun-drenched Rome, on the beloved backdrop of Piazza Navona, three friends - Marco, Sofia, and Giuseppe - always met.

It: Erano seduti accanto alla Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi, godendosi il piacere di una giornata senza nuvole.
En: They were sitting beside the Fountain of the Four Rivers, enjoying the pleasure of a cloudless day.

It: Era tempo di dessert: gelato.
En: It was time for dessert: gelato.

It: Questa preziosa dolcezza che donava agli amici un momento di tenera gioia.

It: Marco chiese un cono alla stracciatella mentre Sofia optava per il gelato alla nocciola.

It: "Giuseppe, che osservava divertito, li interruppe dicendo: "Beh, è un po' come un buon racconto, no?

It: " I due, con in mano i coni gelato scambiati, lo guardarono perplessi.

It: "Come sarebbe a dire?

It: " chiese Marco.

It: "Semplice," rispose Giuseppe, "secondo me, un buon racconto come un buon gelato ha degli elementi essenziali.
En: "Simple," Giuseppe replied, "in my opinion, a good story, like a good gelato, has essential elements.

It: Avemo l'inizio, come la base del cono che sorregge il gelato, poi abbiamo la trama, come i gusti di gelato che vengono scelti, magari con qualche sorpresa, come i gusti che avete appena scambiato.
En: We have the beginning, like the cone base that holds the gelato, then we have the plot, like the chosen flavors of the gelato, perhaps with some surprises, like the flavors you just switched.

It: E infine abbiamo la conclusione o morale, quella ciliegina che rende tutto perfetto!

It: " Marco e Sofia non potevano che sorridere a questo paragone, continuando a dibattere sul gelato, mentre Giuseppe mangiava il suo, tutto cioccolato, senza intoppi.

It: Alla fine, tuttavia, furono costretti a confessarsi che l'altro gelato non era poi così male.
