Episode LXI (61): WITHIN EVERY GOOD DRINK LIES A GREAT STORY - Tonight, we launch our special September Singer/Songwriter/Storyteller Showcase series (yes, we love alliteration) as we welcome the uber talented Matt Cash to join us live and in studio for an episode of conversation, drinks, laughs and music. To quote the great music columnist, photographer, audio engineer (and rocket scientist) Andy Eng, Matt Cash doesn't simply play a tune but "lives in the story’s moment as its played. This is a fine line of talent that not many cross - Trudy Lynn is such a performer and Matt Cash is on that list too." Cash, the front man and co-founder of the former festival favorite and venue headlining band Cassette Tape (2014 94.5 Texas Buzz Band of the Year and Best Indie/Punk Band), has become a must-see acoustic solo and duo act (we recommend Sunday Funday downstairs over looking the water at Cabo Clear Lake with the also ultra talented Chris Hardy) with his passionately unique style and energy. Cash is also a dynamic open mic host and will be joining us on the air tonight immediately before we move the post-show fun over to Seabrook’s recently relocated Fatty’s Bar for a very special open mic night. If time allows, we also are locked and loaded to discuss some news in the craft beer scene locally, state-wide and nationally. And we plan to put our guest to the test with our world-famous, on-topic audio quiz and tease some of what is on tap this weekend in beer, music and events thanks to our friends at The SCENE Magazine. A couple shows of note include the first of Jackie Brickhouse’s new monthly Country Concert series tonight (Thursday, Sept 5) featuring Sundance Head and Trey Rose along with special show just down the street from our studio tomorrow night (Friday, September 6) when national Acts BALLYHOO! & PASSAFIRE hit the stage at Scout Bar. Thirsty yet? Then grab a drink and tune in to the Galactic Coast Power Hour at 7pm!! The show is available live at www.vinyldraughtradio.com, on the iHeartRadio app, Spotify, the TuneIn app, the Player FM app, the Live 365 app and NEWSFLASH: THE BRAND NEW VINYL DRAUGHT RADIO APP AVAILABLE NOW in both the ITUNES and GOOGLE PLAY stores (we told you it was coming). Episodes are also available after the fact on iTunes, Google Play and SoundCloud. Cheers from your hosts the Discovery Channel’s “Galactic Guys” (John Ennis and Mighty Michael Taylor). Special thanks to the world’s tallest one-man audio/visual/production/security/support team of Greg Meisinger on the controls and keeping us on the air and sounding good. We also appreciate all of those helping behind the scenes at the station, the network and beyond. Prepare for Liftoff!!
